Effect: Letterbox
Description
This effect will put bars at the top and bottom of the screen, cropping the image to give a widescreen look to the frame. The image is not distorted in any way. Rather, the top and bottom of the image are simply covered by the bars.
Controls
Aspect Ratio: |
Determines the size of the bars, giving a smaller or greater widescreen look. The higher this value, the larger the bars and therefore the narrower the visible portion of the image, giving the impression of a more widescreen presentation. |
Shift: |
Slides the frame up and down so you can decide what part of the image should be visible. |
Background: |
Determines the intensity of the bars, going from black to white. |
Effect In/Out: |
Fades the effect in and out. |
Notes
To set a standard widescreen aspect ratio, use {Letterbox, Standard}. For scenes shot using the widescreen (16x9) setting of most cameras, use the {16x9 Unstretch} effect.
