Effect: Pixel Noise, Intensity
Description
Adds intensity noise to the pixels of the image. Each affected pixel has its intensity varied by a random amount, resulting in a grainy image. Unlike {Pixel Noise, Color}, the color values of the pixels are not modified.
Controls
Pixels: |
Determines how many of the pixels in the image are affected. |
Amount: |
The amount of the intensity variation of the affected pixels. A smaller value varies the colors of the pixels less, giving a more subtle effect. |
Distribution: |
Determines where the noise is strongest. The noise can be strongest in the shadows, constant across the image, or strongest in the highlights. A graphic representation of the distribution is displayed in the small preview window. |
Effect In/Out: |
Animates the Pixels and Amount values. |
Notes
This effect is visibly affected by DV compression artifacts, which are more noticeable in a still image than in a moving one. That makes the image look different using the "Preview" and "Apply" buttons. To also affect the color (hue) of the pixels, use {Pixel Noise, Color}.
