Effect: Film Grain, BW, Uniform
Description
Simulates black and white film grain with a uniform distribution over the intensity values of the image. With this effect, all brightnesses will have the same amount of grain.
Controls
Amplitude: |
The strength of the grain. The larger this value, the more pronounced the grain. |
Smoothing: |
How smoothed out the grain is. Larger smoothings give the impression of larger grain, thus smaller film negatives. |
Density: |
The proportion of pixels which have grain. |
Effect In/Out: |
Animates the Amplitude. |
Notes
A larger smoothing value results in larger grain. Therefore to give the impression 8mm film, the smoothing should be high.
To simulate black and white grain as it appears on a movie screen, use {Film Grain, BW, Positive}. For the grain as it would appear on a film negative, use {Film Grain, BW, Negative}.
