Effect: Flicker
Description
Simulates the flickering due a bad projector lamp, or due to a bad camera's uneven speed.
Controls
Frequency: |
The speed at which the flicker changes between frames. |
Intensity: |
The variation in the flicker intensity. A high value will cause some frames to appear very dark. |
Brightness: |
Sets the overall brightness of the clip. This is used to compensate for frames appearing dark due to the flickering. |
Effect In/Out: |
Animates the Intensity. |
Notes
There are two ways of using this effect. If you want to simulate a bad projector, then you should apply this effect after all other scratch and dirt effects. If you want to simulate a problem at the camera, you should apply it before the other effects.
A subtle use of this effect, along with {Dark Corners}, combined with diffusion on a high contrast black and white clip, gives the impression of old Charlie Chaplin style film.
